Morning Practice.... ugh

So the past couple days I've been trying to get back into a solid routine and it's been working out pretty well. Have been in the pool everyday since Friday, my room is no longer in a state, went on a successful food shop at ASDA (the wal-mart of the UK) and hit the books and got some hardcore study done. Not too shabby, eh. I think it definitely makes up for the shite week I had last week. Being sick = unproductive.

So, what's new? Well not too much. I'm currently sitting in the second lecture theater up at Ninewell's hospital because now that the second and third year students have returned from their SSC's (student selected component of the course) we have been shafted to the smaller lecture theater where we can barely fit 150 first year students. On the plus side I get internet in this lecture theater so I'm able to post blogspot posts, check e-mails and pull up lectures off Blackboard, on the other hand it's a bit colder in here, no where to rest my head in between lectures and every seat is usually filled up.

I"m really excited to get this week going and so far I'm off to a pretty good start with a 7am morning practice done and out of the way. Plans for the rest of today are to get through the two lectures in the morning, get write up some of last weeks lectures in the break in between, review the case of the week, attend a bonus Medsin lecture and head back to the flat or to the library to get some more work done. Exciting eh. I may throw in an extra training session as well to help stretch out and get rid of some of the lactic acid out of my muscles.

That's how I'll be spending my Feb 14th, Valentines day. I must say, not too exciting but whatever. I'll leave you guys off with a wee cheeky video. It's definitely a must see, it's absolutely hilarious and for those of you who are sharing this Feb 14th with the other single men and women, it's definitely a great pick me up. I must say kinda random but anyways that's how I roll. Hope you enjoy it.

Video was brought to my attention a couple of years ago my friend Alex Schofield along with other friends from Simon Fraser Aquatics back in the day such as Asia Van Buuren, Kady Wong and Caitlin Laughlin. We got a good laugh out of it back in the day.

Going Banana's in the Library

Life just could not get any better. Chilling at the library with good friends Laura Duncan and Tanith Mckenzie attempting to get a good chunk of work done in the couples of hours we have left before the library closes. It closes at 2:30am on weekdays now by the way, we hopefully won't be going that late.

Things have been pretty crazy here the past week or so. My week started off with me in bed with a massive headache and a sore throat. Then progressed to an even worse headache, body aches and a horribly sore throat but has now calmed down a bit into just a annoyingly sore throat, awesome... I'm not going to lie but it is definitely difficult to pull things together while walking through wards, trying to get through group work sessions when you're expected to contribute to the discussions and sitting through lectures while you're dying away. Anyways the end of the week is finally here. All I have to do is finish up a 1500 word piece of writing on the skin and skin stigmas, then spend the afternoon taking part in a community visit at a local care home.

Side Note: Laura Duncan if you are reading this watch out from for the flying banana candies that are coming your way. Also I left a couple of the banana candies in your jacket pocket and Tanith you also have some in your wallet. Enjoy!

If you hadn't noticed I've finally got my act together and started to making my blog a little more presentable. I've added some cool features to it, an awesome picture of Vancouver (I got the picture from a blog called 'Stuck In Customs', here's his site www.stuckincustoms.com) and have decided that I should put a bit more effort in on posting. So expect more frequent posts. Tell me what you think of the blog by posting comments on this or other posts.

Anyways back to the books. Catch you all later. I'll leave you guys with a picture of my friends Tanith (left), George (center) and Laura (right). This picture is from Robert Burns Night taken inside Liquid night club after a whole mess of drinking. The team decided to try and kill a keg, lets just say that it got messy.

Remember to tell me what you think of the blog, I really enjoy reading your comments.
